My first Maxi Skirt DIY

•  flash back to the journey of making my first maxi skirt! I will tell you lovlies a story to what motivated/inspired me to making this maxi skirt am wearing here.

So I saw this beautiful maxi skirt online, which I fell in love with but it was 39iches and secondly expensive. I love the length of my skirt to be 47″ oh yes 47 inches!! The one I saw was 39″ and even at that was going to break my account I was like ” hmnnnn is high time I got me a sewing machine, and taraaaaaaa!!!! I went sewing machine hunting, got one but then I have ZERO idea on how it works 😔😔😔

I went on YouTube and began the “how to” search, saw some tutorials some worked and some didn’t I was frustrated, I thought to myself  “This sewing machine is baddddd” 😭😭😭😂😂😂 “just because you can’t fix it, doesn’t make it bad!” 

After a lot of practice I was able to thread my sewing machine, and using some old pieces  of clothes, I made some stitches and I was like “yeaaaaaahhhh babyyyy!!!!!” YES I CAN! 

Little by little I started getting my stitches right, I was happy. Using my Ankara, i went online and searched for “how to make gathered skirt”, boy oh boyyyy!!! It was difficult. I didn’t relent, I didn’t give up I continued and just when I thought I might just have to pack this skirt to trash it, I did it and it came out good , even though the stitches aren’t straight but come on 😜😜!!! This was my first sewing project, I was over the moon with happiness. Here are pictures of my first ever sewing project 😅😍😍😍😍👌👍
